WHERE TO EXPLORE ON YOUR
NEXT KAYAK ADVENTURE!
ISLAND PLACES TO EXPLORE:

Kayaking is very dependent on the weather. We have different conditions on the island from the mainland. We can advise you on your adventure according to the conditions.

GIBRALTAR ISLAND:

An easy paddle from our dock in the downtown harbor. See the 3rd tallest National Monument from the water.  It's a great place for pictures. The harbor is well protected from most weather and is super relaxing to see the magnificent limestone cliffs. Cooke Castle has some great history on Gibraltar built-in 1865.  It is a private island now owned by OSU.  This is where the Needle's Eye "used to be".

THE BENSON FORD SHIP:

Amazing to see and has been on HGTV-Most unusual homes. On the way to the Benson Ford, you will be able to see Rattlesnake Island and Green Island. Beach glass can be found on days the lake level is lower.

MASSIE PRESERVE:

Has a dock and a stone beach to pull your kayak up onto and walk the paths or sit on a bench and have lunch. You will get a great view of Middle Bass when you go east.

EAST POINT BEACH:

At the end of the island with a walk on the beach to Buckeye Point.  Ballast Island can be seen from here.

MIDDLE BASS ISLAND:

For more experienced kayakers as it is a 1+ mile paddle over open water. Most of it is private land, but you can pull up on Middle Bass State Park beach to get out and explore the island.  If you get hungry and need to cool off-go to JF Walleyes for lunch and jump in the pool out back.  You can rent a bike and visit Lonz Winery grounds. This is a very fun island-hopping adventure.

Don't sweat the details-we will help you in every way to have the best time when you get here!!
